ABOUT US Together we've published 99 middle-grade and teen novels, some of which have been translated into 17 languages. We have been co-authoring and separately writing novels for more than twenty years. We have authored five book series. "Bone Chillers" became an ABC Saturday Morning TV series. Our book "The Great Mom Swap" became an ABC made-for-TV movie. We've made presentations at schools and writer's conferences in many States. Our latest book was published in 2008. Betsy has taught for The Institute of Children's Literature and is currently on the staff of UCLA Extension's Writing Program, teaching "Writing the Young Adult Novel", "Writing the Middle-Grade Novel", and "Creating Awesome Characters". She traveled to Spain and Portugal to speak at schools there at the invitation of The American Schools of Spain. We were named Life Time Members by SCBWI National for our efforts in establishing the NC/NE Texas Chapter. We're also members of Mystery Writers of America and the Authors Guild.  |
HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO PROFESSIONAL CRITIQUING 1. To enroll E-mail us at JimBetsyHaynes@att.net to be put on our schedule. 2. Once you are enrolled, we will provide our address where you can send your double spaced manuscsript, along with a payment of $2 per page and a SASE via mail. 3. We will send you a document stating we will not use or share your work with anyone. 4. We will provide a complete manuscript critique including line-editing, a thorough discussion of voice, character development, plot, dialogue and premise in writing. 5. For an additional payment of $25 each, you will be provided instructions on how to write a book proposal, a synopsis, a query letter, and a presentation pitch. |
